The promoter USB group has finally announced the successor of the current latest running USB standard(USB 3.2), the USB 4.0. It will work on the USB Type-C connector and its architecture is based on the Thunderbolt protocol specification.
The major improvements it brings are:
- Up to 40 Gbps of data transfer speed over 40 Gbps-certified cables (amazing....).
- Multiple data and display protocols to efficiently share the total available bandwidth over the bus.
- Backward compatibility(meaning newer technology(USB 4.0) will exist without taking the place of older technology(USB 3.2)) with USB 3.2, USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt 3.
These were the main highlights about the USB 4.0, for more detailed information you can go to Click Here
